My name is Juliet and I was born and raised in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean. I moved to Melbourne, Australia about four years ago to study a bachelor’s in industrial design (Honours) at RMIT University. I graduated with First Class Honours in Decemeber 2020.
I am an industrial designer, who is passionate about facilitating change and creating positive experiences using service and strategic design tools and methodologies. Most of my work have been related to the education and/or wellbeing space. Tackling wicked problems and addressing the SDGs have been an important part of the work I have been involved in.
I am on a journey to become an impatient optimist who is up for a challenge, a new adventure, and opportunities to contribute to creating meaningful impact in issues that I believe in.
Giving back to communities is one of my core values. Since I was little, I was taught the importance of being grateful, supporting others and giving back. If you are interested to learn more about my thoughts on giving back, click here !
I also give my time to different non-profit organisations with whom I feel a genuine connection. I am volunteering as the Lead Graphic Designer and part of the committee for Story IS Connection, a NFP that mobilises international students using storytelling and theatre. Furthermore, I am among the Strategic Consultant volunteer team for VicWISE Inc , an organisation that advocates for international students’ global employability in Australia.
